Important Policies for Coaches

To ensure a great experience that goes smoothly for coaches and event operators, please take note of the following policies.  Full details can be found in our Knowledge Center.

I attended a two-day event. Will I receive double the stipend amount?

Each multi-day event has its own policy. Please review the description in your confirmation email carefully to see if the stipend covers one day or multiple days. While two-day stipends may be available, you must contact the event's point of contact (a Tourney Direct RAM or the event operator) to confirm. If you are not explicitly confirmed for a two-day stipend, you will not receive double the stipend for attending both days.

I attended an event but didn’t check in. Can I still receive a stipend retroactively?

All coaches are required to check in by scanning the QR code at the event. To ensure compliance, we send multiple reminders throughout the event. If you experience any issues with check-in, please contact us during the event for remote assistance.

Please note: Stipend budgets are finalized at the event's conclusion, and payments cannot be processed retroactively.

Can I transfer my stipend to another coach?

To transfer your confirmed stipend attendance at an event to another individual, log into the stipend management portal, navigate to "My Events," and click the transfer icon under "Transfer Stipend." Enter the recipient's name and email address, then submit the request. The recipient will receive an email to accept the transfer; if they do not respond within 5 days, the request will be canceled, and your confirmed attendance will be released. Upon acceptance, the event operator will review the transfer. If approved, the recipient will receive a confirmation, and the stipend-confirmed attendance will appear on their event dashboard. If declined, your confirmed attendance will be released.

I’m coaching a club team at the event. Can I also receive a stipend?

Each event operator sets their own policies. We encourage you to reach out to the event operator to ask if this is possible. Generally, most event operators prefer that if you are receiving a stipend to recruit or coach, you should not divide your attention by also coaching a club team.

Why was I put on the standby list?

You may be placed on the standby list for several reasons, such as another coach from your program already being confirmed, all stipend positions being filled, the event operator seeking a balanced mix of divisions and conferences, or concerns regarding your no-show or cancellation history.

I thought stipends were first come, first serve. Why didn’t I get a spot even though I submitted my interest quickly?

Some events are highly popular and can reach capacity within minutes. While a first-come, first-served approach was common in the past, today's events focus on aligning staffing needs with the expectations of attending players and teams.

Can more than one coach from the same program attend for a stipend?

Typically, no. Most event operators provide only one stipend per program, though policies can vary by event.  Please reach out to the event operator for more information.

I worked an event today. Why haven’t I received my stipend yet?

Each event operator determines their own payment schedule, and we provide a projected timeline on the event details page to assist with your planning. You can find this information in the "Event Details" box under the "Stipend Payment" section. Please note that Tourney Direct does not control or schedule stipend payouts.

Who should I contact if I have questions about an event I’m interested in or worked at?

Some event stipend opportunities are managed by Tourney Direct, while others are managed by the event operator. Refer to the stipend page for the point of contact for each event.

I took a new job. Do I need to create a new account with Tourney Direct?

No, you can keep your existing account, including your linked payment account. For more information, visit: Updating My Contact Information.
