Accessibility Statement

Last updated: August 21, 2026

Overview

Tourney Direct is a workforce operating system for youth sports. This statement describes the accessibility of our web-based operator portal, staff portal, and public-facing website, as well as our SMS-based communication system used by youth organizations, event operators, coaches, officials, event staff, and club staff.

Conformance Status

Our web-based portals partially conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. Partial conformance means that some success criteria are not met. Known exceptions are documented below.

Accessibility by Product Area

SMS Communication Layer

The primary interface for coaches, officials, event staff, and club staff is SMS/text messaging. This channel does not require interaction with a web interface and is fully compatible with native device accessibility tools, including iOS VoiceOver, Android TalkBack, and device-level voice-to-text input. No additional configuration is required by the user.

Operator Portal and Staff Portal

Our web-based portals have been evaluated using Google Lighthouse and score in the 90th percentile range for accessibility. These portals are used by event operators, Tourney Direct staff, youth organizations, coaches, officials, event staff, and club staff.

Known accessibility limitations:

  • Color contrast: Certain foreground and background color combinations in our portals do not meet the WCAG 2.1 AA minimum contrast ratio of 4.5:1. These color combinations are part of our established brand identity. We have documented this as a known exception and are reviewing it as part of any future brand refresh.
  • Language attribute: The <html lang> attribute is not currently set at the content management system level, which affects internationalization and localization support. This is a known issue scheduled for remediation by August 28, 2026.

Public Website

Our public marketing website (tourneydirect.com) has not been fully optimized for accessibility and does not currently meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards. The website is used for general information purposes and is not part of the operational tools used by event participants or administrators.

Assessment Approach

Tourney Direct self-assessed our web-based portals using Google Lighthouse, a tool built into Google Chrome DevTools. No third-party accessibility auditor has assessed our product to date.

Remediation Roadmap

  • Language attribute (<html lang>): Scheduled for remediation via CMS configuration update by August 28, 2026.
  • Color contrast: Under review. Brand-constrained elements are a documented exception; we will revisit as part of future brand updates.
  • Public website: Accessibility improvements are planned as a roadmap item for Q4 2026.
