How Staff Get Paid Through TD Pay

Overview of the TD Pay Payment Process

TD Pay automates the entire payment workflow:

1. Staff assignments are created in the Tourney Direct platform

2. Stipends are automatically calculated

3. Event operators fund the payment pool

4. Tourney Direct processes payments to staff

5. Officials receive payouts to their connected bank accounts

Because the system is fully integrated, operators do not need to track hours, calculate totals, or send payments manually.

Step 1: Staff Are Assigned to Games or Shifts

During event setup, staff members are assigned to games, shifts, or roles within the Tourney Direct platform.

Examples may include:

• Officials assigned to specific games

• Collegiate Coaches assigned to Day 1 or Day 2 of an event

• Event staff assigned to shifts

• Athletic trainers assigned to sessions

Each assignment is tied to a stipend rate configured for that role.

Once assignments are created, confirmed, and the staff has checked-in confirming that they worked, Tourney Direct automatically tracks all related payment data.

Step 2: TD Pay Automatically Calculates Stipends

The platform automatically calculates staff payments based on the rate type set by the operator:

• Flat fee

• Per game

• Per hour

This means event operators do not need to manually calculate totals for each staff member.

All payment calculations are handled by the system and reflected in the platform's reporting tools.

Step 3: Event Operators Fund Staff Payments

Before payments can be sent to staff, the operator must fund the payment pool for the event.

There are two funding options available:

ACH Bank Transfer (Recommended)

Most operators connect a bank account to fund staff payments. This option avoids credit card processing fees and allows for larger funding amounts.

Credit Card

Operators may also fund staff payments using a credit card, subject to the platform's funding policies and limits.

Once funding is secured, Tourney Direct prepares payments to staff.

Step 4: Payments Are Finalized After the Event

After the event concludes:

1. TD Pay calculates the final stipend totals based on rate type and rate

2. The payroll report is generated automatically

Because the calculations are handled by the platform, operators do not need to manually verify or process individual payments.

Step 5: Tourney Direct Sends Payments to Staff

Once payments are finalized, TD Pay sends payments directly to each staff member through the Tourney Direct payment processing system automatically.

Staff members connect their payout account once and can receive payments from future events automatically.

Payment Transparency and Reporting

Event operators can view full payment details within the platform.

The Reporting tab allows operators to see:

• Total stipend amounts

• Staff payment breakdowns

These reports align with the funding receipts issued for the event.
