General Guidelines and the Importance of Contacting Event Operators Directly

Each event operator establishes policies that align with their event and business needs. Below are general guidelines addressing common stipend questions to help guide you. 

Can multiple coaches from the same program receive a stipend?

• While policies vary by event operator, typically only one stipend is provided per program.

Why Was I Placed on the Standby List?

There are several reasons you may have been placed on the standby list:

• Another coach from your program may have already been confirmed.
• The stipend positions for the event may already be filled.
• Event operators may aim to staff a balanced mix of divisions and conferences, and spots for your division or conference may already be filled.
• Your no-show or cancellation rate may have raised concerns for the event operator.

Being on the standby list doesn’t mean you won’t have an opportunity; it simply reflects the event's specific staffing needs and considerations at the time you submitted interest.

Can I Receive a Stipend While Coaching a Club Team or Working a Table at the Event?

Each event operator sets their own policies regarding this situation, so we encourage you to reach out and ask if it’s a possibility. However, most event operators prefer that stipend recipients focus solely on their recruiting or coaching duties, rather than dividing their time and attention.

Will I Receive Double the Stipend for Attending a Two-Day Event?

Each multi-day event has its own policy regarding stipends. Be sure to carefully review the description in your confirmation email, as it will specify whether the stipend covers one day or multiple days. While 2-day stipends may be available, you’ll need to contact the event’s point of contact—either a Tourney Direct RAM or the event operator—to confirm availability. If you are not explicitly confirmed for a 2-day stipend, attending both days will not automatically double your stipend.
