Event Day Check-in Instructions
Check-in on event day by tapping the personal link sent to you via text, texting Teddy directly (ex. Checkin), or scanning the QR code if provided by the event operator to ensure your payment is processed—if you don’t, you won’t get paid.
First, ensure your contact information is up-to-date by logging into the portal, clicking on the "Profile" tab and ensuring that your Primary Phone Number is your current mobile phone number that Teddy can reach you at.
On the day of your confirmed stipend event, Teddy will send you a personal check-in link via text.

Tap the link on you mobile device and tap the orange "check-in" button. That's it! Alternatively you can always Teddy directly by responding back with "Checkin".
A QR code is still an option if the event operator has it out and available for you to scan.
As part of the enhanced check-in process, coaches and staff will also be asked to checkout at the conclusion of their shift or the event. The process is the same: Teddy will send a personal checkout link that you can tap and then tap the orange checkout button. Alternatively, you can simply text "Done" or "Checkout" to Teddy directly.

Checking in is essential to ensuring your stipend payment is processed.
Important: If you forget to check in, the payment process will not run, and you won’t be paid for your attendance or work.If you're ever unsure whether your scan was successful or want to double-check, simply log into the Tourney Direct stipend portal and navigate to the "Stipend" dashboard. The status column will update from "confirmed" to "checked-in" once your scan is processed, and later to "paid" when your stipend is sent. It’s an easy way to ensure everything is on track!
Understanding check-in verification and how stipend payments work
Tourney Direct is a software and payment processing platform. We do not run, host, or operate events. Each event is run by an event operator, who funds the stipends and determines payment eligibility. Tourney Direct processes the payments an operator authorizes; decisions about who is paid and how much always rest with the event operator. To ensure your stipend is released on time, you must verify your check-in through the portal within 7 days of the event. This window allows the operator to confirm attendance and release funds while records are current. Requests submitted after the verification window has closed cannot be processed, as both the funds and the approval belong to the operator. If you are ever unsure whether your check-in was recorded correctly, log into the portal and confirm your status as soon as possible and contact support right away if anything looks off, while there is still time to resolve it.
